YAWANAWÁ SAITI STUDY [traditional chants]
SAITI STUDY is a very sacred space for all yawanawa people. It is sacred wisdom being shared and should be taken with a lot of presence and honour.
Usually the traditional chants and their meanings | stories are shared during intense diets and it is rare for the Yawanawa family to share this sacred knowledge outside of diets.
In this class 3-4 SAITIS will be shared for you to be able to understand their meaning, correct pronunciation and way to chant them traditionally (as they do in their ceremonies).
if we chant incorrectly it can severely change the meaning of the chant, therefore it is out of respect and reverence for the culture and the people that we call for learning straight from source :)
in yawanawá culture and ceremonies, chants, songs, music and dance are essential parts of spirituality and community.
many people go around the world singing yawanawa songs, but little people actually know the meanings and intricate spiritual experiences behind the songs. this workshop is for those wanting to learn more behind the chants [saitis] and songs and their weavings with traditional dances, and stories.
